Tax Manager-Middle East Region

Job role:

• Responsible to prepare all direct & indirect tax returns, with support of external consultants and/or local AFC teams when applicable, sharing the result with AFC Area and Group Tax Department
• Liaise with tax consultants and assess their performance.
• Assist in evaluating, monitoring and mitigating tax compliance risks, including advising of where changes/possible changes in tax laws will affect the group
• Advise AFC Area, VPs Areas and Group Tax Department on the adequate tax strategy for all new business initiatives, contracts (commercial) and/or new countries (business development)
• ensure the respect of Group policies, procedures and processes with fiscal implications
• liaise with Group Tax Department, compile all internal requested reports transmitting them in a timely manner and in accordance with the respective procedures.
• Revise and approve all the provision/registration for any required taxes (eg: WHT, VAT, CIT, CD, SSO etc.) either if prepared by external consultants or AFC teams.
• Support AFC teams in the preparation of all tax notes to be inserted in the financial statements.
• Responsible to follow-up all tax assessments in coordination with external tax consultants when applicable reporting to Group Tax Department, AFC Area and VPs Areas the scenarios and conclusions, requesting their formal approval before any decision or commitment towards the local tax authorities. Responsible for all other relevant report compilation with support by external tax consultants whenever necessary for any requirement related to OECD compliance such as: CBCR, ESR, Transfer Price etc.

Reporting line:

• Direct report to AFC Area.
• Dotted line to VP Group Tax Department.

Candidate profile:

• Minimum 10 years' experience in tax management (direct and indirect taxes) from a country with high/complex tax exposure experience.
• Experience in a leading international tax firm or in an international group.
• Based in Abu Dhabi but available to commute to the countries in the Region on a regular basis.
