Job summary/Role description

Administration Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day function of accounting department as requested by the AFC Coordinator as well as responsible for the processing and updating of financial information by maintaining and reconciling accounts and preparing reports.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Perform G/L Accounting entries

  • Account and manage vendor’s invoice and arrange the correct booking in accordance Group standards in SAP

  • Reconciliation of transitory accounts

  • Reconciliation of balance sheet Accounts (including Client and vendor)

  • Perform the activities of the General Ledger Function to ensure the accurate and timely closing of the General Ledger. Assure all transactions are recorded;

  • Analyses on G/L Account in pre-closing phase

  • Perform weekly cash management and forecast

  • Prepare/analyse balancing of the monthly intercompany transactions

  • Processes a wide variety of financial information for the purpose of updating and distributing information in compliance with the established accounting practices and regulatory guidelines

  • Execution and/or verification of end period accruals

  • Assistance to Financial Statement and General Accounting HoD in keeping updated records

  • Manage fiscal task liaising with AFC Coordinator and external advisors

  • Facilitate external/Internal Audits 

 

 

 

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • A university degree in Accounting discipline or related field

  • Knowledge of Belgium Financial regulation, accounting standards and practice is required

  • IFRS Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the payment processes, purchase order processes

  • Knowledge of Belgian VAT systems

  • Knowledge of the Belgian Fiscal Laws and Regulations

  • SAP knowledge

Experience

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in Accounting discipline
    1. Accountant level with strong general accounting experience

Desirable

  • Experience in SAP Accounting Systems

Skills and Abilities

  • Native Dutch speaker

  • Fluent English

  • Excellent IT and analytical skills

  • Attention to detail, excellent communications skills

  • Strong interpersonal, team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution

  • Ability to work alongside the senior management team as well as the wider business

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
