Job summary/Role description

The Project relates to the implementation of a new Urea and UAN (Urea Ammonium Nitrate solution) plant in Gemlik, 125 km south of Istanbul, Turkey.

The plant will have the capacity of 1,640 MTPD of Granular Urea and 500 MTPD of UAN, and will run on the market leading urea technology of Stamicarbon, a fully owned subsidiary of the Maire Tecnimont Group. The Scope of Work concerns the execution of engineering, supply of all equipment and materials and construction and erection works.

Planning Engineer, SPL is a part of the Project Control team following the activities related to the control of the construction and commissioning works, in compliance with established Project Master Schedule, and the promptly respect of all reporting documentation both to external and internal stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop Commissioning Schedule within the time extent already established in the Project Schedule;

  • Feed Schedule with estimated standard Manhours to obtain Progress Curves and Manpower Histograms;

  • Ensure that the Detailed schedules developed by Subcontractors, as per their contractual obligations;

  • Co-operates with the subcontractors in issuing the supporting documentation for calculating physical progress and in observing the related procedures;

  • Prepare short-term look ahead plans/schedules (when required);

  • Perform schedule control at the cut-off dates and provide forecast on completion dates especially in a presence of any adverse trends so that effective recovery plan can be timely enforced;

  • Assess physical progress at the cut-off dates evidencing any deviations from the baseline and suggesting remedial actions, if any;

  • Perform manpower control by collecting time sheets from Subcontractors and comparing the actual manpower against the planned, as per baseline;

  • Prepare the weekly/monthly Progress Report related to the Site activities in accordance with the Project Procedures.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of CPM scheduling tool "Primavera" (P6)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with particular emphasis in the use of Excel tool (pivot table, formulas, graphs, etc).

Experience

  • Relevant experience in construction/modernisation of large Petrochemical plants/ EPC projects;

  • Strong subcontractors and construction/commissioning management experience in EPC project, Large/XL plants;

  • Good understanding of tracking job progress and formal reporting;

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the specific discipline;

  • Similar role covered in the last three projects, of comparable size;

  • Experience working on Contractor side

  • Excellent communications skills, team-oriented and interpersonal skills;

  • Self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
