Job summary/Role description
|
The Project relates to execution
of engineering, procurement of all equipment and materials, construction and
erection work for a new Delayed Coking Unit with coke handling and ship loading,
Sour Water Stripper, Amine Recovery units and the revamping of Hydrocracker,
Sulphur Recovery, and Utilities & Offsites units.
Construction
NDT & Welding Inspector, NWI verifies that welded joints, post-weld heat treatments
and non-destructive tests are correctly performed according to the approved
specifications prepared by the relevant engineering departments and relevant
approved Subcontractor’s documents.

Duties and responsibilities
|
- To
witness the welding coupon and destructive non-destructive test execution on
shop or at Laboratories for preparation of Procedure Qualification Record
(PQR);
- To
support the home office Welding Group during cycle for the approval of
Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)
and PWHT procedure;
- To
witness the Subcontractor Welder Qualification process;
- To
check that welding material respects the requirements of the approved WPS;
- To
check that welding machines and ovens are continuously calibrated;
- To
check that shop and field welds are performed in compliance with PROJECT
specifications and with approved WPS/PQR, NDE and PWHT Procedures, etc.;
- To
witness the execution of non-destructive tests, heat treatment and hardness
test;
- To
check the execution of positive material identification test;
- To
grant that welding activities and the tests are recorded by Subcontractors in
the welding data base;
- To
check that all repairs are performed correctly, and non-destructive tests are
regularly repeated;
- To
obtain any necessary approval from Home Office Welding Group for deviation,
as appropriate, to welding procedures and for performing repairs requiring
special procedures;
- To
verify the adequacy of information on NDE Reports;
- To
verify that adequate and valid welder approvals are available and that only
approved welders as required are used in production.

Knowledge & Qualifications
|
- University Degree or Diploma in a relevant
discipline or equivalent
|
Experience
|
Relevant
experience in construction/modernisation of Industrial sector/ EPC projects
large petrochemical plants; At least 3 years of experience in the
specific discipline; Similar
role covered at least in last three projects of comparable size;
|
Skills and Abilities
|
Fluent
English; Excellent
IT and analytical skills; Excellent
communications, team-oriented and interpersonal skills; Attention
to details; Self-motivation
and direction, with a strong bias
toward timely performance and problem resolution.
